President Donald Trump speaks to Christian Broadcasters at NRB's 80th Anniversary in Nashville, TN

Our press team had the privilege of covering the 2024 National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, Tennessee.

The NRB Convention is known for attracting influential speakers, and this year was no exception. A special treat for many attendees, especially our team, was the appearance of President Donald J. Trump.

Addressing a packed room, Trump spoke directly to the Christian broadcasters, acknowledging the vital role they play in uplifting the spirits of millions of Americans. His remarks were particularly poignant, given his administration’s efforts to protect the freedom of speech for Christian communicators through an executive order.

The convention, celebrating NRB’s 80th anniversary, brought together nearly 5,000 Christian media professionals from around the world, and I found myself reconnecting with podcasters, film producers, distributors, and ministries I’ve collaborated with over the years.

On Tuesday, we sat with the CEO, Troy Miller, and learned about more of the behind-the-scenes work NRB does on the daily. His passion and joy is contagious for the effort this organization puts into protecting the rights of Christian broadcasters. WATCH THE INTERVIEW.

The scale of the event was truly impressive.

The convention featured 42,000 square feet of exhibits, with 219 exhibitors showcasing the latest in Christian media and ministry resources. It was encouraging to see the diversity of content and the passion each organization brought to the table. Among the exhibitors were 67 first-time participants, a testament to the ever-growing impact of Christian media. As someone deeply involved in Christian media ministry, and this being my first time at the convention, I was pleasantly surprised by how many familiar faces we encountered and new ones excited to reach more Americans with the Gospel.

One of the highlights of my time at the convention was speaking with the leaders who had come to connect and get updated news from the discussions and panels. Topics ranged from the legal landscape of Christian liberty to truth in journalism, U.S.-Israel relations, and family issues. These conversations were not just timely but also essential, reflecting the critical role Christian media plays in today’s world.

The convention wasn’t just about talks and exhibits; it was a time for celebration and recognition. The NRB Media Awards luncheon honored the best in Christian media, from radio and television to digital and international programming. It was inspiring to see so many talented individuals and non-profit organizations recognized for their dedication to excellence in Christian communications.

Another notable moment was the Closing Gala, where the Special Service Awards were presented to industry legends. These awards highlighted the significant contributions these individuals and organizations have made to Christian broadcasting.

Throughout the week, the convention offered numerous opportunities for networking and strengthening relationships within the Christian media community. We were booked the whole week with interviews and meetings, constantly engaged in meaningful conversations and collaborations.

Looking back, our first NRB Convention was not only a time of professional growth but also a deeply encouraging experience. The connections and powerful moments of fellowship have left a lasting impact on those who attended. As we look forward to the 2025 convention in Dallas, Texas, we are excited to continue contributing to the work of sharing the Gospel, re-establishing biblical morals, growing the Kingdom of God, and advancing excellence in Christian communications.
